Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know, and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

Our New Life

It was a week ago that our realtor came for a visit.  We had a great chat with her and her assistant that day and we did a walk through of our entire home so that she could see everything and leave us with a suggested list of what we should do to our house to get it ready to put on the market.  We had already decided to tear out the carpet from the living room, dining room and the hall way and replace it with hardwood laminate.  So this past weekend we tore out the carpet and removed all of the furniture to prepare for the flooring to be installed tomorrow.  We had no comfy couches to sit on tonight and I've got to say that my butt is still pretty sore from sitting on our hard dining room chairs all night!  Ouch!  =(

Here's a pic of our living room after the carpet was ripped out and before the new flooring

Our dining room after carpet and before new flooring

Our new best friends and constant companions

The "S" team.  Sanding team, that is.  We are working on most of the rooms in our basement.  The bathroom, our family room, the hall, and the boys room.  We went through and removed all of the pictures etc. from the walls and patched all of the holes, dents, scratches and any imperfections.  Then I called in my "S" team.  Yep, that's right.  I have a team, aren't I lucky?  =) The team and I sanded until we all looked like....... Great Granny's Ghost. Except for Haylie......

She looked more like a vampire

But that's only because she has two fake teeth on a retainer and she can flip the retainer upside down to give herself fangs.

Here are some pictures of my "P" team.....my primer team.  Everyone has their own painting style...

"Mr. Dot to Dot"....gotta keep things interesting

"Miss Freestyle".....Chloe's a bit on the artistic side  =)  She also enjoys wearing the paint!

The "This is so boring, I just gotta sit down"painter

"The Eagle Eye"....she not only watches what she's painting but she watches over everyone else's painting too.

So as you can see, we did indeed decide to put our home on the market and try to sell it.  We are very much in need of something a bit bigger and we are all craving to get back into a home with more land.  It's been 8 years since we've had "room to roam."  We used to live on 10 acres and we feel like it's about time we packed it all up and headed back to the country.....but we have to sell our house first.

We will be spending every waking moment....give or take a few....getting this ol girl ready to start entertaining prospective buyers.  I sure hope that I will still like painting after this.....after all, our new house might need some sprucing up too!  =)

Are you talking the country in WA state, specifically in the Tri Cities?? Lots of country here to have room to roam :)! Really, though, that's great...so glad you are going to get land again...that is our dream and hopefully we'll get it to happen sometime in the next 3 years or so!! <3

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight. Good to hear from you.

We're about to do more major overhaul of the house, to up the market value. Because of my husband's call to minister on a small island, we are having to do a major downsizing. Oh so sad. For the same price we are selling our 3300 sq. ft. custom built home for ... we can afford a small mobile home on the island. Not very fun, since we still have 6 kids at hoome.

Blessings to you as you all work together to get the house ready.

Laurel :)
