Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know, and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

Update on the last few days around here.....

We ventured off to the health dept on Monday....all of the kids were mentally ready to get poked a bazillion times....but, alas, we were turned away due to the fact that we have insurance coverage for immunizations included in our insurance policy. I never thought I would see the day that my children would be so upset that they weren't able to get their shots!! Maybe it was because they were all mentally prepared and then to suffer the let down...........or.......could it have been the promise of a small reward from the store afterwards??? (Which obviously, they didn't get one, due to the fact that they didn't have to present their arms to be used as pin cushions). Anyway, spent the next hour or so on the phone with the insurance company and the doctor's office trying to figure this whole mess out. So after all of the time spent traveling to the health dept., at the health dept (that took a while to try and sort out all the shot records and then just to realize that they wouldn't be able to do them anyway), on the phone with the insurance co. and docs, and then to one of the kids well child check appt.s at the docs office......we have finally figured out that we don't have enough coverage for the doc appt. costs and all of the immunizations too.....so.....where do you think we are going now, I ask????? Yep, you got it. Right back where we started from....the health dept.!!!! (Insert very loud scream and a bit of head banging on the table action).

Yeah...nuff said about that.

We cleaned all day Tues and into the night and then again first thing yesterday morning till we couldn't go on any longer.   Our social worker came yesterday and stayed for a few hours.  All in all the visit was pretty painless.  The most painful thing was all the intense cleaning leading up to the visit!    "L" even made it home in time to have her interview so now she doesn't have to go to the office to do it.  Woot!

So we just need:
All of the doctor's letters--all doc visits will be done by early next week
The background check paperwork from the state--should be any day now
Our financial statement sheet filled out--almost done
"T" to meet with social worker---next week
Reference letters turned in----hopefully soon!  :)

**To those of you who are being so gracious as to fill out a reference questionnaire for us, the secretary for our social worker had some flooding issues in her home right after Christmas and her computer was affected so that is why you haven't received your forms yet.  She said she would make sure they got out yesterday or today.  So expect them soon.

So we are hoping that by the end of this month we will have our home study in hand and one also traveling to our adoption agency for inspection.  If given the AOK it will be on it's way to the government with our I-600A application (Advanced Processing of Orphan Petition).  That hopefully won't take longer than a month to process.  While waiting for that, we will be finishing up on things needed for our dossier. Then it's fingerprints and  dossier off to our agency and then on it's way to Ethiopia!  Woo Hoo!

Have a great day!
Wendy
