Friday we went to the docs for the 3rd time in a week for L and N's appts. N had to have his first "boy" test.....kinda funny. Neither of us knew it was coming. (cough, cough). Needless to say he endured it like a pro. :) Only one more kid appt. to go, and Hubby has his today. J is scheduled for the 20th but is on the cancellation call list. I'm hoping he will be able to get in earlier than his scheduled appt.
Things accomplished this weekend:
*My long awaited birth certificates came in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*We sent in our passport applications.......we are now $200.00 poorer
*We finished up our required 10 hours of pre-adoptive training yesterday. The last seminar was a doozy! We had to take a test after each seminar, which wasn't bad, but this last seminar was way longer and the test wasn't just multiple choice like the others, but was 1/2 that and 1/2 written answer. That was tough. It takes about a week to get this last test graded so we won't know if we passed them until then.
*We ate our first Ethiopian meal! We went to Go Jo, an Ethiopian restaurant/deli in East Town GR. It was very nice. The food was pretty good, a bit spicy with quite a bit of vinegar-ish taste. Their bread (injerra) is like a sourdough tortilla, but soft like a crepe. You use it as a scoop to eat with. No silverware here. We brought some samples home to the kids and let's just say they weren't over enthusiastic about the taste. I thought J was going to barf as he was running to the garbage can to spit it out! Guess we will have to work on developing a taste for at least some of the Ethiopian dishes.
Today we are venturing out to invade the Health Department again. Hopefully we won't end up leaving bandaidless like the last time we were there. We will also be in preparation mode today as we get ready for the arctic freeze that is coming our way! I just opened our electric bill for last month and just about fell off my chair! I don't think that I have ever had a bill that high! It was kind of funny cuz I just heard the people on the radio talking about it this a.m. They were saying how high their bills were this past month...I didn't think anything of it. I guess I will start trying to pay more attention to things around me...I think God was trying to prepare me for my shock of the morning and to think, I wasn't even paying attention to him!
Wishing you a not so "shocking" electric bill,
Wendy
