Update on AAI's Holiday Fundraiser

From Mandie, AAI's Holiday fundraiser Coordinator:

This week we received $700, bringing the total raised so far to $1890. We still need to raise $19,740, to meet our goal. (Last year we made the goal in 9 weeks... I'd love to beat our record, and announce it in 8 weeks this year!)

THE GOAL IS TO GET THE DONATIONS IN AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, so that we can
get the gifts/supplies purchased and sent over to Ethiopia with
traveling staff and families before the holiday.

Last year, more than $5,000 was raised for Humanitarian Aid programs.

This year, the project will be a bit different due to the news of famine and inflation in Ethiopia over the past year.

Children are starving and families are unable to buy food, or fuel to keep their

homes warm. With your donation of $30, fifteen of that will go to Hope Enterprises, which provides meals for street children and the needy.

Last year, some of the older kids were taken to volunteer at the soup kitchens many families purchased meal tickets from the soup kitchens to pass out on the streets. This is a great organization, and I'm very excited about AAI's Holiday Project partnership with them! At just over .40 cents per meal, imagine how much we can do!

This year, not only will you be making the holidays a little bit
brighter for a child or caregiver, you will also be contributing to
feeding the hungry in Ethiopia.

clicking the "DONATE NOW" button, click on "Holiday project" and type
what portion of the project you would like your donation to go to,
in the Donation Designation Field.
