Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know, and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

Our Life Since The Big Day....

It's funny....somehow I thought that after Liz's wedding I would most likely be able to sit back and relax.  Who was I kidding?!

When we pulled back in our driveway that night we had one sleeping 3 year old, a van full of "stuff" and a rented moving van full of "stuff" that all had to be unloaded. Somehow in all of the dreaming of relaxing I had forgotten about all of the "stuff" that we would have to return to the rental center, return to the store because we didn't use it, return it to the owner (because we borrowed it) etc. etc and so on.  It's kind of like coming  back from an extended vacation...."now we have to put everything back where it goes"......ugh....

I mentioned the sleeping three year old because Chloe ended up sleeping about 15 hours that night.  She fell asleep on the way home and was carried in the house and put into bed, in her flower girl dress, and didn't wake up until about 10:00 the next morning!  She spiked a fever at some time during the night and that started a wonderful (not!) series of doctor's visits and medications.  She had seemed to be suffering with allergies leading up to the wedding, as she had been mildly sick on and off for a few weeks.  There is a possibility that she ended up with pneumonia but we don't know that for sure because we opted not to get a chest x-ray.  Because of her past experience with pneumonia, asthma and x-rays I'm trying my best to not run and get one every time one is offered.  She was put on Symbicort, a regular inhaler, an antibiotic especially for pneumonia, and an antihistamine.  At her re-check it was suggested that we go to the audiologist to get her hearing tested because she seemed to not be able to hear very well. The doc also put her on another allergy med--singulair.  Turns out her hearing loss was moderate, it's like she's living under water in a swimming pool! The specialist checked her ears and said that she did have ear infections so she is now on a double dose of a different antibiotic for that.  She seems to be doing much better and I can't wait to get her off all of these meds....it just kills me to have her so medicated!

The weekend after the wedding we were able to take a trip up North (where I'm from) to see the newest member of our family!  My brother and his wife had a baby boy 2 days before the wedding, and due to that, weren't able to come.  So we decided to travel up there to meet the little guy.  Here are a few pics from the trip:

Brenda spent the weekend working on overcoming her fear of heights.  We convinced her to climb to the top of the lighthouse (as seen here) using the buddy system, of course. (Haylie's hand is still recovering from that!) We also took her to the top of Mission Hill and on the way back to lower Michigan we stopped at Castle Rock and made her climb to the top--well...almost to the top.  She hasn't quite conquered her fear yet.....
