So much has happened since I last posted. Don't faint, but 3 of the kids actually were able to get their shots last Friday!! Amazing, I know. Today the other 2 will go to get theirs and we will be done with it....for a while anyway. The doctors letters are ready and waiting for a notary to sign them, hopefully that will be taken care of today. I am calling our social worker to set up the soonest appt for T to bring her all of our paperwork and to do his individual interview with her.
After that appt she will begin to write our homestudy. That will take no more than 10 days! As soon as our HS is finished we can send in our I-600A to the government to get our childs pre-approval. Hopefully it is still only taking about a month here in MI for that.
The other thing that has happened here over the last few days is that we are trying to figure out if we should switch to another agency. I won't go into it here, and really it's nothing bad. Mainly we just feel like we are looking for a certain "experience" through this process and it's possible that the agency we have now doesn't really provide that. I will be calling there today to talk with the person that runs the Ethiopia program to help me to figure this out. If we do end up switching, we already have a new agency picked out, so that's not a big deal. Their paperwork process even seems easier than what we have just been through with our current agency and the wonderful thing about this new agency is that they don't require the I-600A to be sent in with our dossier! That means that we can send in our dossier as soon as it's finished and we will be able to get on the waiting list faster! The only down side is that this new agency says that their wait time is approximately 12 months...yikes...that seems sooooo long! Anyhoo, if we do switch I will have to work my butt off to get the paperwork done....again....as quick as I can. Fun stuff.
Have a great day!
